Traveling Safely This Holiday Season

The holidays are a time best spent with friends and family, and for that reason it’s also the busiest travel time of the year. Here are some simple tips you can use to avoid the stress of traveling and focus on spending time with the people you care about the most:

  • Avoid peak travel days. Airports and roads will be more congested on the days just before and after popular holidays, such as Christmas and New Year’s Eve. If you can’t avoid traveling on these days, try to do so early in the morning or late at night.
  • Ship any gifts to or from your final destination. Not only will this save room in your luggage, but it’s often cheaper too.
  • Stay connected while you travel. Many airlines have apps that can keep you updated about flight statuses, and if your family is driving, you can keep track of gas stations and popular rest areas. However, be sure you keep your eyes on the road and not on your phone!
